Is Handwerkrechnung really GoBD-compliant?
Yes. Invoices are immutable after sending (only credit notes possible), the audit log is hash-chained, invoice numbers are gapless. All mandatory fields from §14 UStG are filled automatically. Every PDF contains ZUGFeRD 2.3 XML.
What does it really cost? Are there hidden fees?
From €7/month for Lehrling, €12/month for Geselle (our core product). 30 days free trial without credit card. No setup fees, no usage limits beyond invoice count, no premium support surcharge. Annual billing saves 20%.
Can I switch from Lexoffice or Sevdesk?
Yes. CSV import for clients. Old invoices importable as PDF archive (GoBD-compliant). We’ll help you personally with the migration — just write to us.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. The PWA caches your latest data locally. You can create invoices offline — they sync when you’re back online. Perfect for construction sites without reception.
Can I install the app on my phone?
Yes, as a PWA on Android and iPhone — no app store needed. Tap ‘Add to Home Screen’ in your browser. The app looks and feels like a native app.
Where is my data stored?
All data is stored on servers in Germany (Frankfurt). No US cloud, no transfers to third countries. GDPR-compliant. Encrypted backups. Certified data centre.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
You can export all data as CSV, PDF and ZUGFeRD XML for 90 days. After 90 days the data is deleted (GoBD requires 10-year retention — that’s your responsibility). We’ll help with the export.
How does the §35a EStG breakdown work?
You enter labour, materials and travel separately. The invoice automatically shows them with a note: ‘20% of labour and travel costs = X € are deductible under §35a EStG, max €1,200/year.’ Your customer will love you for it.
Do I need an accountant?
Not for creating invoices. Handwerkrechnung doesn’t replace an accountant for annual tax returns, but you don’t need one for daily paperwork. If you have one: DATEV export is included in the Meister plan.
Is there a tradespeople mode?
The whole product is a tradespeople mode. §35a breakdown, surcharges (Saturday, Sunday, night, holiday), site surveys, photo documentation, material markup, §648 BGB cancellation dialogue — all built in.
